Girl Last Seen Review

Girl Last Seen by Heather Anastasiu and Anne Greenwood

This book follows the story of two girls, Lauren and Kadence. They were best friends and created a YouTube channel together where they gained a following for their singing videos. The girls had a big falling out, though, after Lauren is caught with Kadence’s boyfriend, Mason. Then, Kadence disappears and Lauren is the main suspect.

The book switches perspectives in between Lauren, Jude, Mason (being questioned by police), and found-footage from Kadence’s laptop. This was a little confusing at first, but I got into the groove of it pretty quickly.

This book was exciting. I didn’t know who to trust and every time I thought I had figured out what was going to happen next, I was wrong. It has tons of plot twists and turns, so if you like lots of drama and unexpected endings then this is the perfect book for you.

I liked Lauren and Jude as a couple and I was rooting for them throughout the book. They both did some pretty bad stuff to each other, yet I still wanted them to end up together.

My only problem with the book was that Kadence called her fans “Kady-dids.” It just annoys me and I cringed every time I read it. Something like “Kan-dids” would sound a lot better.

Thank you to AW Teen at Edelweiss for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
