Today I’m talking about some of my favorite authors. From YA contemporary to sci-fi, these are the voices that really stand out and inspire me:

What Makes Their Writing Stand Out: All her characters are relatable and the scenarios in her books are so much fun.

Have I Met Them? Yes, she was so sweet!


Marissa Meyer

My Favorite Book: Cress

What Makes Their Writing Stand Out: The creativity! Her world in the Lunar Chronicles is so creative and interesting, and the way she binds all the fairytales together is amazing.

Have I Met Them? No, unfortunately not. But she is a part of the Fierce Reads Fall Tour, so I’m hoping to meet her then!

My Favorite Book: Before I Fall and Pandemonium

What Makes Their Writing Stand Out: Before I Fall is such an emotional book that really puts things in a perspective. I loved the romance in Delirium, as well.

What Makes Their Writing Stand Out: I have never read a book like Dorothy Must Die before. It’s such a complex, interesting reimagining of The Wizard of Oz.

Have I Met Them? No, but she’s coming near me for Barnes and Noble B-Fest, so I’m definitley going to meet her then!

What Makes Their Writing Stand Out: Characters! Harper Price is so unique and hilarious, she always has me laughing. David and Asher are so swoon-worthy and I am in love with them.
